I have really been thinking about hopes and wishes the past couple of days- and what exactly differentiates the two. It always seems that when I wish for something, I know it is unlikely to happen. A wish is something that is out of reach and more than likely unattainable. While when you hope for something there is the possibility that it might happen at some point in life.
I also thought that maybe a hope is something that is more sincere- it seems whenever I am being sarcastic or whatever I will "wish" for something...Like wishing my children would quit talking- Of course I want them to talk and would be worried about them not talking...but silence is golden...Wishes also seem to accompany regret- (I wish I never had....) or accompany not good feelings- (I wish I would loose weight) So you could say that "hopes" are a positive desire.
So here are some of my "hopes" instead of wishes....
1. I hope that my children will come to know and have a father in their lives- someone who will teach them about the Gospel and show them what a blessing a father with the priesthood can be.
2. I hope my children's father will eventually come to realize his potential and will live up to it.
3. I hope for happiness- for days without un-needed stress and with much needed laughter
4. I hope that I can be a good example for my children- that I will be able to show them how to love each other and be kind to all those they meet.

School Time
Well- School has started- actually it started last Monday- Life has just gotten so crazy!
Emily started Preschool with Sister Egbert on Tuesday- she loves it! Most of the kids are from our ward, with a few from others as well. Em has made a new friend in a little girl named Emily- She is a cute little girl who also goes to the same daycare- Grandpa has willingly agreed to take both of them back to daycare when preschool is over.

Caleb loves going to daycare- especially when he gets to take his backpack. He is such a cute guy- so busy. His teacher is new to the center- she has quite a bit of energy- especially when it comes to having six 2 year olds in her class.
Kids in my preschool started Yesterday- another group started today- but Caleb was up sick all night so I stayed home with him today.
I don't have first day of school pictures on the computer yet....so those should come in the next few days.
Here is my favorite picture from the summer. We bought a rocking chair from a yard sale on the next street over- and so Grandpa went to pick it up..

Growing Old
I don't have very many memories of my Grandparents- at least as far as their marriages are concerned. My grandfathers both passed away within a year of each other during my first year of college. I had wonderful grandfathers- they both have taught me so much. My grandmothers have also been wonderful examples-
The thing that I do remember the most about my Grandparents is the way that they took care of each other. My Grandpa Leavitt was a very strong man- he was a cowboy- the true kind, not the dime store variety. He could jump up on a horse by putting his hands on hate horse's hind quarters and jumping. He was and is to me bigger than life. And my Grandpa loved my Grandma. My Grandma is from England-she was a hard worker, and loved all of us- she expected us to be good children, and loved us even when we weren't. and she took care of my Grandpa for years- through each surgery, through aching and aging she was always there for him. As my Grandma started forgetting things, it was amazing to see the roles shift- the stubborn old cowboy was the most patient man, who would put my Grandma's nylons on and make sure that her dress was zipped and everything was in place.
I think that this is the greatest thing that I have learned from my Grandpa and Grandma- how to have patience and love- no matter how life changes and the situations that arise. They showed me what love is like- and how marriages are supposed to be...the kind that you want to last forever....
Someday...
